Welcome to YOUR camp blog

Welcome to the Year 8 blog for the Junior Campus camps for 2012.  We're only days away from Mrs Shanks and Rm 10 making their way on the first trip into Deep Cove.  I know that everyone, teachers, parents and especially students are amping to get in there!  This blog has been set up for you to share your experiences, with your friends, family and anyone else that may be interested in Deep Cove.  If you have older brothers/sisters or even parents that went on Deep Cove, let them know about this blog as they are more than welcome to share their experiences as well.  Over the next week, I'll be giving some background on the development of Deep Cove and the Education Trust that runs the hostel and uploading some experiences from past JHC Deep Cove camps.  Remember that this is YOUR blog and I want to hear from you!

Bring it on!

    1. Probably easier to give them in how long they take to do at an 'easy' pace from the hostel:

Helena Falls walk - 2 hours return
Old Doubtful Track + Stella Falls - 4/5 hours return
Hanging Valley - 3/4 hours return (but this one is steep :) )

    2. Room 10 took:
      Helena Falls Track - 1 1/2 hours
Old Doubtful Track + Stella Falls - 4 hours return
Hanging Valley - 2 Hours but we only went to the lookout.
Of course we didin't take much time as we had all gone walking before camp

  12. Miss Howden and I have just come back from taking room 7 into Deep Cove. What a wonderful time we had! My students really enjoyed the walks and fishing. I asked my class what their favorite walk was and most of them choose Hanging Valley - I was surprised as this is the hardest walk (in my opinion anyway!). My highlight of Deep Cove was the beautiful scenery, the Doubtful Sound cruise and seeing the glow worms. Mrs Tawhai

  13. On camp i enjoyed swimming in the waterhole and going under the Helena Falls it was all extremely extraordinary.
I found Stella falls and Hanging Valley challenging but when you get to the top you feel great because you have accomplished it and its great.
