  2. Deep Cove Report 2012
Deep Cove is a wonderful nature discovery place. In deep Cove there are lots of walking tracks that people can select from to do. When I went to deep cove as the first camp, I didn’t know what to expect. Well I was surprised, with its beautiful wonderful and bushes Deep Cove, Fordland is a wonderful place. The best thing out of camp was everything, but to say the best I would say that the Stella Falls hike was the best. Even know at was wet we got to see it’s beautiful wet weather in the bushes and got to see the bushes better than we would have seen if it was sunny.
Helena Falls was the first track we did and I must say, it was easy, but then it was only the first day and we had to get the hang of the walks. So when we finished the walk the first thing that popped in my head was when we can go on a walk next. Of course the next walk was harder and much more difficult to do. Once we had done Stella falls I really didn’t care if it was too easy.
The last walk we did was the Hanging Valley track and at was majorly up hill. Sadly we didn’t go to the hydro dam as at was closed for some unknown reason (probably because of rain recently). When we reached halfway up hanging valley we took photos around the area because we might never be there again. I took 224 photos and 15 videos in the whole time. It the end of camp my LCD screen broke and when I took the photos on my camera I didn’t know what they would turn out as, but they turned out fine! 3. Deep cove was fun. Even though we had to get up at 7:00 every morning apart from when we had breakfast duty and got up at 6:30am.
Hanging valley was way more awesome than you think it would be it may be quite steep but it is actually really cool. The view is brilliant! We saw a weka having a bath. .

    Hello my name is Louis.
I have really enjoyed Deep cove camp because it is really cool and also exciting. It’s awesome in Fordland with all the surrounding sounds and valleys and the walks are great too, but most of all I reckon the boat cruise is the best.
I’ve really liked camp and I hope you enjoy deep cove as much as I did.

  9. Deep Cove was really amazing. It was such a great way to hang out with all of the class and it was a great opportunity for some of our class members because some of them don’t go out into the bush as much as others. My favourite walk was Hanging Valley because it was the shortest and the most challenging.

  10. Deep Cove camp has been and gone and boy it was lots of fun! Every time I visit Deep Cove it I am blown away by the beauty and magic of the area. I loved the walks and my favourite walk was the Hanging Valley walk which is challenging but always fun when you get to the top and we didn’t get drenched like we did doing the Old Doubtful track!
I was so proud of my class for how they walked on the walks, looking out for each other and making sure no one got behind. The parents were also great and we couldn’t have done it without them.My only regret from camp was that we didn’t see the dolphins, as I have seen them most times when we are in there, but not this time, and that camp went so fast… before you know it, it is all over and you‘re heading home again.

    2. Hello Mrs Shanks - my class also enjoyed Hanging Valley the most. My class were lucky enough to see dolphins on our cruise. We also saw two penguins behind the boat, we saw their little black heads dipping in and out of the water. I will show you some pictures back at school. I totally agree with you Mrs Shanks - camp goes so fast! You know what say - time flies when you are having fun!

  13. I thought Deep Cove was a really cool camp. The walks were very long and hard, I enjoyed hanging valley the most because it was the shortest. The best bit was hanging out with my friends and the boatride.
